Okehampton - Managed Workspace Units

This a Rural Business Park development sited on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. This office has prepared a masterplan for the site for the South West Regional Development Agency and West Devon Borough Council. Detailed Planning Approval has been gained for an initial phase of managed workspace units featuring sustainable construction. The scheme utlises a number of sustainable design features which helped the project gain an 'Excellent' BREEAM Assessment. Work has commenced on site Summer 2007. Updated : August 2007

site at Beechwood and Petit Bois, Plymouth

The scheme comprises 104 units of Key Worker Accommodation with associated parking and landscaping. The development provides the NHS Trust with a significant proportion of its projected requirement for staff residential accommodation within 5 minutes of Derriford Hospital, to a standard which meets, or exceeds, guidelines. Completed on site May 2007

Ian Penrose Architects and the SMC Group

ZERO 4

In January 2005 the practice achieved a Detailed Planning Consent for a nine storey mixed use development for Prestige Homes South West - the former Ballards building at The Crescent, Plymouth which takes consideration of the Local Plan, the Urban Design Brief for the area and emerging David Mackay Masterplan for Plymouth. The scheme includes for eight storeys of residential accommodation above retail and restaurant uses at ground floor parking in the basement. The proposed building addresses the sweeping curves of The Crescent and forms an axis of the existing central parking courtyard.

INNOVATION CENTRE FOR SOUTH WEST RDA AND EXETER UNIVERSITY

This is the first phase of a new Innovation Centre based on the University site and provides 14,000 sq ft of quality office space for up to 15 small hi-tech businesses. Businesses benefit from a special package of services including access to the University's technical facilities, their computer network, catering, library, sports facilities and office management. A second phase commenced on site with Kier Western at the end of 2006 and is due for completion November 2007.

LATITUDE 52, PLYMOUTH FOR PRESTIGE HOMES

This is the conversion and vertical extension of former Agnes Westons Sailors Rest Home, forming residential units to the upper levels comprising 101 apartments on six floors and commercial facilities at street level. Many apartments offer panoramic views and the development creates a stunning inner courtyard. As you will see we have changed the 'language' of the building entirely, added two new storeys in steel and glass together with now roofscape and a glazed internal atrium. UPDATE: OCTOBER 2005

EDEN PARK BRISTOL

We have engaged upon this project for around 8-9 years now and were originally commissioned by our clients, Redrow, in respect of a masterplanning exercise over the whole 100 acre site, which involved the retention of an 18th century parkland, Masterplan proposal for houses, nursing home, employment area, village green, woodlands, ect.

We completed the detail design work for Redrow Homes and when they sold the employment land we continued the project with our clients Rok Development Ltd

POLE POSITION UPDATE CLIENT ROKEAGLE/ NORWICH UNION

This 45,000 foot Office Development provides a Regional home for Norwich Union and is located on a prominent site on the edge of Exeter at Pynes Hill. The striking contemporary design was evolved in close liaison with Norwich Union and was recently completed by Contractors, Cowlin Construction. The project was completed and handed over to Norwich Union early September 2003. UPDATE: 2005

MERCEDES-BENZ DEALERSHIP, SOUTHAMPTON AIRPORT

This prominent main hub dealership was completed in 2004 for Pentagon Mercedes-Benz at Southampton Airport together with Dealerships at Chichester (Completed 2003), Winchester and Southampton West (Completed 2004).

This particular dealership has been well recieved by Mercedes. We are currently on site in Portsmouth for them with a multi- franchise Mercedes/Smart/Jeep dealership.

PLYMOUTH COLLEGE

This project provided a two storey extension to Plymouth College's principal assembly hall (The Heade King Hall) to form a new club for the OPM's on the first floor and addtional music facilities on the ground floor. Exsiting music rooms and the foyer were also enhanced.

FACTORY FOR CURTISS WRIGHT BRIDPORT

The Practice has recently completed an industrial unit with associated offices, forecourt and parking for South West Regional Development Agency at Gore Cross.

The 43,000 square foot industrial factory has been built in a sensitive area of outstanding natural beauty without adversely inpacting upon the enviroment. The general constrution is sustainable and has been designed to satisfy the requirments to achieve 'very good' BREEAM rating. UPDATE: Nov-05
